Scott Lowrie, NDT Director
Scott Lowrie is the
NDT Director at Metals & Materials Engineers. His broad
areas of expertise include product analysis, mechanical
testing of plastics and construction materials,
accelerated corrosion testing, material weathering and
CCTV inspection of piping systems.
Mr. Lowrie also has extensive experience with materials engineering aspects of historic building renovations and underground utility systems assessments. Mr. Lowrie holds a bachelor of Science Degree in Materials Science and Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Prior to his tenure with MME, Mr. Lowrie worked with Georgia Tech and Vanderbilt University to develop high-efficiency, single-crystal solar cells utilizing X-Ray Diffraction techniques. Mr. Lowrie is a registered professional engineer in twelve states and utilizes his affiliations with ICC-ES and three ASTM subcommittees to forge the future of testing criterion and specifications.
