Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)
Our NDT management team has extensive experience in the QA/QC arena in various sectors of industry. MME personnel are currently certified to ASNT Level II & III in radiography, magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, and ultrasonic inspection methods.
Whether it's a major building structure, piping production, rail replacement, casting, extruding or forging, MME has the knowledge and ability to see your project successfully to its completion.
NDT Services:
MME’s NDT Team offers a team of trained technicians and project management that specializes in the following inspections areas:
The list and the definitions/descriptions of the testing we perform.
Visual Inspection
Our array of state of the art microscopes affords us the opportunity to determine if it is a "scratch" or a "crack".
Radiography
An in-house vault and Phillips 300 kV x-ray unit give us the protection and power to accommodate any size component. Can’t get it to us, we’ll come to you with our portable x-ray machines and mobile dark rooms.
Eddy Current Testing
MME utilizes state-of-the-art eddy current impedance plane analysis units to sort your material by alloy, conductivity, heat treatment, or hardness, measure conductive or non-conductive coatings, and detect cracks.
Liquid Penetrant Inspection
For the detection of surface breaking flaws, MME offers a variety of liquid penetrant inspection techniques. We utilize visible and fluorescent dye, solvent removable, water washable or post emulsified techniques.
Magnetic Particle Inspection
When magnetic materials are suspected of having surface or sub-surface flaws, fluorescent magnetic particle inspection provides excellent sensitivity for locating and identifying these flaws.
Ultrasonic Inspection
At MME, ultrasonic inspection is used for flaw detection and evaluation, dimensional measuring, material characterization and more. Our instrumentation can be used in the lab or field utilizing A-scan and portable C-scan methods.
Certified Welding & Structural Steel Inspection
Our inspectors are capable of performing dimensional inspections of steel members, visual and ultrasonic inspections of welds, bolt tensioning, as well as inspections of composite flooring and roof decking. MME has a full staff of certified inspectors to include ICC S1: “Structural Steel and Bolting Special Inspectors” & ICC S2: “Structural Welding Special Inspectors”
Our NDT staff is also capable of performing any of the above inspections as a supplement to all other services offered by MME.
From failure analysis to leak detection to Forensic Sciences, NDT is incorporated as an important component to maximize the results of our services.
